Some of us bloggers (notice how I've taken to this new persona so rapidly?) were discussing what kinds of posts readers comment on. And some of us bloggers said that often shorter posts and/or ones that ask questions of readers are best. So I'm conducting an experiment here. This will be the end of this post and I will end it with a question. What did you eat for breakfast? (I LOVE discussing food!)

Comments:
Blogging has come so NATUARALLY to you....hahaha.

I had two cups of coffee--Senseo Paris with vanilla caramel creamer and a bowl of old fashioned oatmeal while dreaming of breakfast pastries. Those breakfast pastries that you get at really nice hotel breakfasts with the glazed croissants and fruit filled thingys. Oh, and I love those breakfast buffets with all the choices and the omlet bar...

oatmeal? And dreaming about pastries? Are you my long lost sister? Thanks for sharing!

Since you got the ball rolling, I'll share too. I had strawberries (organic). I'm a little freaky that way. And just like you old fashioned oatmeal with walnuts (both organic... I know give me a break). And of course coffee. Black.

Who's next?

I ate homemade granola mixed half and half with Trader Joe's store brand cheerios, sprinkled with dried cranberries, and nonfat milk (all except the O's organic).
I have been eating this breakfast every morning for about 2 years now -- I am a creature of habit! I ate oatmeal every day through each of my pregnancies, and right out of college my standard breakfast was a cinnamon raisin bagel with crunchy peanut butter...
Mmm, I could talk(write) about food all night!

Another oatmeal eater here. Plus organic strawberries and ordinary blueberries. This is so disgustingly healthy, I'm going to try apple pancakes tomorrow! Yum.

Ah, hotel breakfasts -- the hotel we leave close to has fantastic breakfasts! Of course, you have to be rolled out afterwards...

homemade granola? Yum. Would you share that recipe, Caroline? I've always wanted to make that especially since my oldest daughter and husband eat granola and yogurt every morning. Is it hard to make?? And like you I am a creature of habit (in the morning). I TRY to branch out but always end up back with the oatmeal and fruit and coffee. Btw, everyone, Caroline has a GREAT food blog. Look to the left (every time I sat that I think I should follow it with shuffle to the right like I'm a dance instructor or something) her blog is food for thought. Check it out!! She's also a GREAT writer!

blueberries, too, Monica? Love blueberries! This morning I had blackberries (I do rotate the fruit depending on what's available and not too pricey!) And those hotel breakfast buffets (is that what you're talking about?)are such a fun indulgence. The Hanover Inn in New Hampshire had one that after you ate it, you didn't have to eat for a week. Seriously. And if you think about it that made it very economical...

omg, you're all so healthy! I ate what I always eat....nothing. Yeah, yeah, I know. Does Diet Lipton Citrus Iced Tea count as breakfast? The bottle says it has "72mg of flavonoid antioxidants per serving." So THAT'S gotta be good, right?

Don't you wake up hungry? I wake up STARVING! Always have. And Diet Lipton Citrus Iced Tea would not satisfy that hunger. But that isn't to say there is anything wrong with sucking down iced tea instead of eating a nutritious breakfast. And it does contain citrus... so it's almost like juice and I see the beauty of having your "juice" and your caffeine in one convenient vessel.

Thanks, Gail! I just made granola again last night -- I do it weekly now that my three year-old eats it every morning, too-- so the recipe's fresh in my head. I"ll post it soon.

I used to wake up hungry but now I wake up desperate for coffee. I have some wonderful Cafe Brit that my best friend brings me from Costa Rica but I've discovered that drinking the "real" stuff makes me a ravenous lunatic later in the day. So most mornings I heat a mug with half soy milk and half water and then add some instant coffee. I save the good stuff for weekends and special occasions.

I know many of you coffee drinkers will groan about the instant and truly what I'm waiting for is a good latte maker, since that's what I'm truly trying to create.

Love the short blog, Gail. Maybe it's about less reading time = more time to comment?

Hi Danielle! Thanks for sharing your breakfast. Is that really it? I'm hungry just reading about you not eating! What do you eat for lunch?
